Phil Kniss: When we can’t choose our neighbors

Pastor Phil Kniss, of Park View Mennonite Church (Harrisonburg, Virginia) preaches on the first Sunday in Lent, using the Gospel story in Luke 10:25-42 - commonly known as the parable of the "Good Samaritan." Phil highlights Jesus' mastery at using story to confront people and systems in ways they did not expect and find hard to argue with. In this case, Jesus helps the "expert in the law" to see himself as the man by the side of the road, and the travelers as potential neighbors whom he is called to love.
