Ooh! Pick me, pick me!

In the first of a lectionary-based series of seven sermons focusing on the book of Ephesians, Pastor Phil Kniss focuses on the apostle’s enthusiastic reminder to the church in Asia Minor, that they are all adopted in God’s household. All of them–Jew and Gentile alike–were deliberately and specifically chosen by God, “for God’s good pleasure,” to be bona fide, full-blooded members of the household of God. This is good news for them, and for us today, a people who often long for a place of belonging, for the knowledge that we are “loved and chosen.”
