After the resurrection, Jesus reveals himself to his disciples, and helps them to understand that they are going to need to spread the message of God’s coming Kingdom to all of the nations. In looking at Luke 24:36-48, Pastor Barbara tells us that God’s spirit is speaking to us. Are our hearts open to recognizing the stirrings of the Spirit. Like the disciples, we need our minds to be opened to what God is calling us to.

Luke Gascho is the director of the Merri Lea Environmental Learning Center at Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana. He speaks on the importance of Christians putting their lives back into balance with God’s creation, caring for “the least of these” in creation. Luke challenged us to acknowledge that everything belongs to God and that we have been created to be faithful stewards of all that God has created. Christ’s resurrection calls us to increase our care for all that God loves.

This Palm Sunday, Pastor Barbara Moyer Lehman reflected on the passage from Mark 11:1-11, commonly referred to as Jesus’ triumphal entry. But this was not so much a road to coronation as it was a funeral march. Jesus knew the path he was on would lead to his death, yet he chose this road of humility, self-sacrifice, and radical love. This was a model of leadership not valued in the world then or now. But we are to use Jesus as our example, to have the same mind as was in Christ Jesus. Can we choose this road less-traveled?
