This is the sixth in a nine-part series exploring responses to cultural issues, entitled “Follow Christ. Question Culture. Love the Church.” The focus of this sermon is on the issue of “Power and Politics” and explores how followers of Jesus understand and exercise power, as opposed to how our culture generally does. Roy makes the point that power, as Jesus exercised it, was not a power of domination, and that power and responsibility must always be held together.
